Dear Industry colleague,

As we prepare to convene for the 5^th BBB International Summit & Expo on the Bioenergy Value Chain, I am heartened by the momentum that India—and indeed the world—is witnessing in the quest for a sustainable, low-carbon future. It is my privilege to chair this event and to stand alongside leaders, innovators, and visionaries committed to shaping a Viksit Bharat through the power of bioenergy and renewable solutions.

India’s Ambitions
India’s ambitions are bold. We aspire not only to become a global economic powerhouse, but to do so responsibly—by embedding sustainability, inclusiveness, and innovation at the core of our growth story. The bioenergy sector embodies this vision: it provides answers to our energy needs, fosters rural prosperity, and offers solutions to pressing environmental challenges. With bioenergy already meeting a significant share of India’s primary energy demand and supporting livelihoods across the nation, we are at a pivotal juncture.

Policy Momentum
The Government of India’s progressive policies—ranging from the Global Biofuel Alliance to expanded incentives for biogas, ethanol, and next-generation fuels—have laid a strong foundation. Now, the baton passes to industry, researchers, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders to collaborate, invest, and deploy scalable solutions. The challenge is twofold: to accelerate the adoption of advanced biofuels and biomaterials, and to ensure that these transitions deliver inclusive growth, rural employment, and a resilient, self-reliant economy.

Global Significance
Yet the significance of this effort goes far beyond India. As the world races toward Net Zero, India’s leadership in biofuels and biomaterials offers not just national gains, but a blueprint for other developing economies seeking affordable, inclusive, and sustainable pathways. In many ways, the choices we make here can help set the course for the global bioeconomy.

Human Dimension
Equally important is the human dimension. Every tonne of bioenergy deployed is not just carbon saved, but also a farmer’s income strengthened, a rural youth employed, and a community empowered. This people-centric impact is what makes bioenergy such a unique lever of transformation—linking environmental sustainability with social equity.

Summit Objectives
This summit is not just a conclave of discussions; it is a convergence of minds and markets. Here, we will showcase pioneering technologies, engage in high-impact dialogues, and forge partnerships that can propel India—and the world—towards energy security and Net Zero aspirations.
